While I was associating with the witnesses I found their unique "lingo" to be strange. I never got into the habit of addressing the others as "brother" or "sister;" I always just used their names when speaking with them. I guess I was a bit of a non-conformist from the very beginning. I was never criticized for failing to talk like them but that was back in the late '50s. I suppose The Cult's controls have gotten much tighter since then in order to be considered a member in "good standing."

JW gatherings
by Jules Saturn inone of the things i don’t like about witness gatherings is the way everything you have to do or say has to be witness related.
the songs played at a party couldn’t be played if the lyrical content was “worldly”, and also hearing the same phrases.
a conversation about something in the news and someone will say “well, we’re living in the last days” or “we’re in this wicked system of things, everything is horrible”.

JW Baptism Anullment
by Farmer Jim1 inhas anyone ever successfully annulled their jw baptism?
especially if they were very young when baptised?.
-
Old Navy
Since the WTBorg Cult Inc. rite of baptism is in essence a Corporation Ritual you'd first have to obtain from the Corporation their Legal Definition of Baptism with its Terms and Conditions. The WTBorg Cult Inc. Legal Department should be able to provide such clarification.
If annulment or revocation is possible then all records of such baptism retained by the Corporation should be destroyed and rendered non-existent.Whether The Cult would in fact perform such a cleansing is debatable. The whole operation may be fraudulent.

Does anyone think it strange that we permit WTBorg Cult Inc. Doctrine deter us from doing what any "normal" person would consider to be imperative?
But, then again, we generally don't realize that we're indoctrinated to be Cult Obedient until we ourselves wake up.
In my own case opposition from family and school teachers was boldly delivered. While the arguments didn't initially register as I lacked experience with The Cult, but in time after seeing how The Cult really operates, they did. I never forgot and it turned out in the end that all who were opposed to my associating with the witnesses were correct. I'll thank them in our next life...

question of the day does a religious org have the right to hold confidential info on one of its members
by poopie inwithout there permission ?.

Good question. In view of the fact that the United States of America and its Political Subdivisions exists today as a "religion" the answer would be apparently so. The U.S. gov't. monitoring agencies capture and retain virtually every detail about the existence of each of the inhabitants of the nation. Since virtually all religions which exist within America are today corporations, as is the U.S. Gov't., the abilities to maintain files on membership is probably legit.
There is undoubtedly more to the question though; are there any guidelines on how the info can be utilized or distributed?

Hopefully, the decision will be temporary. There is hope that he'll awaken once he's been in The Cult for enough time to experience its weirdness. More than likely his NFL earnings are dispensed as an Annuity which should afford him a very comfortable lifestyle for many years to come.

When the Epiphany occurs while in the depths of deep gloom and darkness it can be frightening. Monica will be temporarily confused, as we all were, but as she continues her search for Real Truth she will be rewarded and she will be given comfort and comprehension. What a truly remarkable woman.

...and so the shunning begins
by Phoebe ini am now officially 'inactive' so am no longer chased by an elder a for a report.
the congregation i belonged to never had much time for me anyway, i said once i could drop down dead in the k.hall and no one would notice.
so i never expected anyone to be particularly bothered that i wasn't there and they aren't.

Quote from Phoebe:
I find it quite upsetting that both of them have turned against me. I wish I had walked away from this awful organization decades go
Reply from LisaRose:
Some people make better cult members than others, please don't take it personally, it's not a measure of their feelings for you, but of their fear, fear of displeasing God or fear of what others will say, or the elders.
Chances are they, in their hearts, are as torn up about this as you are but are prevented from acting lovingly because of their intense fears. They know not what they do. When it was your turn during the prior circumstance you responded lovingly to their distress because you are stronger than they.
Though it is painful, I know that you understand fully and do not hold it against them. In time they may yet see the error of their conditioned reflex and gain the strength you had. I'm sure they haven't forgotten.
Congratulations by the way on your determined efforts to break free! The path to freedom is not an easy one but you'll have help all along the way. Whatever feelings you may have of resentment or anger or disappointment will dissipate as you grow strong in your True Faith. Pity those who are stuck in The Cult and have seemingly lost their minds... Until they awaken they are slaves to the Undue Influence.

Was It Really Mental Illness or Was It The Demons?
by minimus inwe supposedly had more than a few “demonized” people in our congregation.
they would hear voices or feel internal punishment within their souls.
the answer was always—-these people were affected by the demons and they needed counseling!.

Apparently the GB has gotten their "education" regarding Demons from way too many viewings of Ghostbusters I, II and III. Demons do not attach to non-living objects; Demons enter into living beings generally by invitation.
I've always wondered why the witnesses are reluctant to "lay on hands" and prayerfully request that Demons be relocated. Perhaps because WTBorg Cult Inc. finds that Demons are very useful to their Mind Control techniques. It seems The Cult has a large bag of tricks that are used to generate fearful obedience to their twisted non-biblical dogma.

Now that is a great short story!! I've always been a fan of SciFi and Hitchcock mysteries. You've got real talent! The Trance-Formation is well described.

Putting your thoughts down in written form is a great start on your path to recovery. Discovering that you are not alone in your experiences and emotions will provide assurance that there is indeed hope that you'll heal from the cult induced trauma that you've experienced. Welcome!
